Learn to Embrace Your Age

Although the principles of longevity are straightforward, relatively few people in the United States and elsewhere firmly grasp them. They may have an intellectual understanding of these ideas, but they don’t put them into practice. Best way to find the age calculator.

One thing is the ability to recognize the principles that lead to health and fitness and a long, active, productive, and meaningful life; the ability to implement these principles is something else entirely.

Looking for a quick fix, far too many people seek out the Fountain of Youth.

Our society’s aesthetic, clothing, sports, activities, and advertising are all geared toward the young.

We celebrate our youth but fail to respect the elders who have raised us and accumulated a lifetime of knowledge and experience. We store them away when they start to become a significant bother.

There is no mistaking the message: youth is attractive and old age is not.

Let’s be honest here. With the way Americans age, who wants to reach that stage of life? Pain, stiffness, immobility, disease, and a lack of meaning accompany old age, as we can see all around us and in ourselves.

The question remains: do aches and pains and illnesses come with the inevitable passage of time?

Gerontologists (experts in old age) claim that the human body was built to last and perform optimally for another century. Sure, we were designed to last a century. But we also intended to reach the age of a hundred while remaining physically and mentally fit, active, mobile, and fulfilled.

How many one-hundred-year-olds do we know who is active, independent, and full of life? It seems like meeting someone like that would be as likely as seeing a unicorn, right?

If we know someone who has lived to be 100, how is that person doing these days?

Here in the United States, reaching the age of eighty is celebrated as nothing short of a miracle, regardless of whether you can do things like get out of a chair or walk around the block.

We can easily access the Fountain of Youth, but unfortunately, it cannot be purchased. So we have to keep at it, day in and day out. Premature aging, disability, disease, and death are all consequences of not taking action.

Do you want to learn where exactly the Fountain of Youth is hidden? Please find it in how you eat, the exercise you get, and how you treat yourself.

Research has only demonstrated the effect of one longevity factor on aging, and that is body weight.

In other words, if these findings are also valid for humans, being overweight immediately subtracts years from your life expectancy.

What, in a nutshell, are the factors that contribute to a longer life span? Some of the most critical factors for a long life are those listed by Dan Georgakas in The Methuselah Factors, including:

Body fat percentage
Produce that has just been harvested
Whole grains and raw nuts
No Firearms
Regular light exercise, like walking, throughout one’s lifespan
Having a job and a reason to live
Normal sleeping patterns
Having a more relaxed disposition

Put that question to yourself. How important is it to you to have a long and healthy life, complete with peak physical and mental performance and meaningful engagement with the world around you?
