How to Get the Most Out of Your Wedding Video and Why You Should Get One

If you can see how a wedding video might spark passion in your marriage and keep it going, you might want to consider getting one. Serving as a continual reminder of your promises to one another. How it will propel your union forward year after year.

Imagine your wedding video as a legacy passed down from generation to generation, and think of the lives it will touch. And I know this means a lot to you.

Read on, visionary that you are.

Why one may make a wedding video.

First, to capture on film what may be the most moving experience of your life.

2. To capture the exact words you said as you promised your life to the one you love so that you and your loved ones can relive that moment forever.

Third, you’ve reached the most pivotal point of your entire life. To play it back and experience the event in the same way it happened, over and over again.

I believe you would agree with me that these are compelling arguments.

It’s Just Like Filmmaking

You’ll need to know the ins and outs of wedding videography to create a film that will motivate you and your spouse for the rest of your lives.

He Who Films It

Today’s wedding videographers [http://www.yesido-weddings.co.za/] [Camera Operator, Sound Engineer, Lighting Technician, Graphic Artist, Video Editor] typically fill these roles and more.

The videographer is an opportunist; there are no do-overs or dress rehearsals, so every shot must be perfect the first time.

Like anyone in any other profession, videographers learn to adapt to various circumstances by relying on their enthusiasm, expertise, experience, and eye for opportunity. But would that be sufficient for a fantastic wedding video?

The Happy Couple

You, the bride and groom, are the film industry’s equivalent of the director, producer, screenplay, and stars of your wedding video.

Planning

You, your videographer, and your photographer need to get along well and be flexible with one another to achieve the best results for the project as a whole. If possible, you should meet with the day’s photographer and videographer present to go over what transpired.

Let them know where they may stand, what time of day they can move around to receive different lighting, and how much area they have to work in.

Since your photographer and filmmaker will be working in close quarters, they must discuss the logistics for working together beforehand. They should get along well and be able to operate together.

Wedding photographers and videographers have specific needs, including enough lighting and space, none of which are typically provided by smaller ceremony sites like chapels.

Believe me, if the designers of the Wedding Chapel were also photographers or videographers, things would look quite different. Since they aren’t, photographers and videographers have to adapt and collaborate in what may be very trying situations.

A Script for a Wedding Video

A script is only an ordered list of actions. This is how a typical script might read.

Preparations Before the Ceremony

The Groom

Yolande’s changing rooms and hair and makeup services are open for 14 hours. Weirda Park, at 33 Bosbok Road

Note It was lively, entertaining, flooded with natural light, rife with mirror shots, and littered with empty Champaign flutes, garments, and accessories.

Bridal Party

Half dressed and shaving, Peter at 14:50. Number 12 Garden Road, The Reeds

In a small bathroom with no windows, it is recommended that you provide additional lighting.

The Groom

Back at 33 Bosbok Rd. for more garden photography with Yolande at 15:30

Watch for Yolande’s wedding car because it will be coming up shortly. Acquire a shot of a woman entering the vehicle. (If you have time, try getting dressed and climbing in.)

Location Sightseeing for the Big Day

It’s easy for videographers to miss a fantastic take when they’re under pressure or don’t have enough time to prepare because they’re opportunists.

It’s a good idea to take your photographer and videographer to the sites they’ll be shooting at before the big day. (ideally around the same time of day when the actual occurrences will occur). Each scene’s camera position, sound, lighting, movement, and other logistical details can be tested and planned for.

Professional videographers and photographers (those who do it for a living) will ask for more money to travel to the location.

However, you should also be aware that your well-laid plans may not always come to fruition; for example, the florist may place a large flower stand where the photographer was planning to stand during the ring exchange. Storm clouds are forming, and the brightness has dropped by around half. Professional videographers and photographers need to be able to improvise in a wide variety of situations, so expertise is invaluable when things go wrong. We enjoy doing this, and we’ve found that the best way to proceed is to be flexible and change the script as we go along.

Fun and Engaging Wedding Videography

Your video might be technically flawless, but without emotion, it will only seem like a dreary parade of robots performing a dull ritual to anyone watching it.

I’d want to give you guys a few ideas about performing in front of the camera today since you’re the stars of this “reality style” film.

If you’re happy, your body language should show it; don’t try to suppress your emotions. It’s okay to laugh, dance, and cry tears of delight.

The key is to act by how you truly feel on the inside.
The happy couple may become irritated by any number of potential snafus, including those caused by insensitive relatives. Don’t let them bring you down; rise above the circumstances. The camera will pick up on these minute details if you allow them to alter your mood.

Exhibit your affection for one another.

Express your love by gazing into your partner’s eyes and touching their hand. Allow them space to move while being close and kind in your body language. Take care to brush gently and attend to even the most seemingly little of his or her demands, as these will be captured by the camera and become cherished memories.

Keep an eye out for the camera; avoid turning your back on it unless necessary.

If you want to make sure that your recollection of your first kiss is as straightforward as possible, you should turn your body so that the camera can film the kiss straight on.

To create a successful wedding film, it is crucial to include elements that evoke strong emotions in the audience.

Video editing as an art form

The adage “garbage in, garbage out” rings true regarding editing. Only high-quality raw footage will do when working with a skilled Video Editor. The Editor may spend as much as 30 hours on a wedding video to ensure the images, music, and live sound blend beautifully.

While edit suite effects such as transitions and subtle editing effects might enhance good material, they cannot rescue a poorly shot film. When used excessively, visual effects divert attention away from the actual video. Don’t get caught up in the editing software’s ability to create fancy transitions; focus instead on telling the story of your wedding day. Broadcast television and movies rarely, if ever, make use of editing effects, and there are solid reasons for this.

High-Quality Cameras and Audio Gear

The technology used is what determines the picture and sound quality. While there is a wide range of quality, ‘you get what you pay for’ often applies here.

Videographers in Training

It’s possible to hire a relative or friend as a wedding videographer and have them use a home camcorder; after the event, you’ll get a complimentary tape from the camera; it won’t be the best video ever made, but it will serve as a keepsake for years to come.

Amateur or aspiring videographers

Even if their equipment isn’t much better than your uncle or friend has, a semi-professional or hobbyist should be able to edit the movie on essential equipment for a reasonable charge.

The Trained Expert

A Wedding Videographer is someone who makes wedding movies as part of their professional life. The number of customers he brings in will determine the quality of his tools. However, I feel obligated to point out that high-quality gear doesn’t guarantee a professionally produced video; checking out the available talent and resources is always wise before putting down money.

If you pay professional pricing, you should at least expect your wedding videographer to use state-of-the-art equipment, such as a 3ccd high-definition digital camera that can capture clear images even in low light.

When you hire a videographer, you are effectively purchasing a portion of the equipment’s finite lifespan and the videographer’s expertise in getting the most out of that equipment.

Affordable PC-based professional editing software systems are available to pros. These days, many major video production studios employ PC-based editing software since it’s so reliable and easy to use.

Quality

A DVD does not necessarily indicate high-quality content because “quality” is defined as “the ability to meet expectations.” The adage “garbage in, garbage out” is again proven true when transferring material from VHS or another analog or obsolete format to DVD.

Talent as a Videographer

Knowledge, experience, and the drive to succeed in one’s chosen field are the building blocks of skill, a topic deserving of its own page. But patience and a fondness for people are two more qualities that will help you become a great wedding videographer.

What should the right price be, then?

What accounts for the wide range in price between videographers? I get asked this a lot.

The market responds with a price because of the scarcity of a product or service. For instance, a videographer’s expertise, skill, and experience allow them to create exciting pictures, making them a scarce resource whose price will rise as demand rises.

But there’s also the issue of how much the market (you) will pay.

Do some research; gamblers may be found in any profession; compare videos in the same price range.

Relationship between Videographers

The difference between a formal, impersonal wedding movie and a warm, personal one is the warmth and friendliness of your relationship with your videographer. Get to know a few videographers and share stories about your day to test the waters for potential openness. We’ve been socialized to be wary of outsiders, and this suspicion informs our actions and prejudices. It would be best to become used to your videographer’s presence to feel at ease in your home with them. Embarrassment and stress are difficult to conceal on film.

It would be best if you felt at ease. If you don’t get along with the videographer, you shouldn’t let that show to the camera operator.

You shouldn’t have too much trouble creating your video, so relax and enjoy the process.
